The Mission

The overall Mission of the Pleasant Valley Youth Association is to provide athletics and activities for all interested youth residing within the Pleasant Valley School District, while providing these participants with an understanding of sport, teamwork, rules, respect and fun, and how this knowledge translates into life strategies. The complete Mission Statement is included in the PVYA ByLaws.

The Vision

The Vision of the Pleasant Valley Youth Association is to work with other community sports' programs, civic organizations, public officials, and the community, to build a COMMUNITY CENTER for sports and other community activities. During that process, PVYA will add youth sports programs and activities to meet the needs of our community.

The Organization

The Pleasant Valley Youth Association is an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit organization established in 2003. Currently there are over 100 coaches/instructors who work with approximately 600 participants in baseball, basketball, field hockey, karate, lacrosse (boys and girls), summer youth recreation camp, and track and field. PVYA is overseen by a Board of Directors that consists of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and a Commissioner from each sport. As a new sport or activity is added, a representative from that sport or activity joins the Board of Directors.

In Memory of a Founding member, Sharon Frigiola, PVYA also offers an adult Tai Chi class and a scholarship (community service based) for PV Seniors who participated in PVYA basketball.

The PVYA Board of Directors meets the Third (3rd) Sunday of the month at 6pm at the Chestnuthill Township Park Building.

WE NEED YOU! The PVYA Board of Directors is always looking for volunteers to serve as coaches, to run community youth activities, to organize fundraisers, and to start new sports programs.
